MURCH JUNIOR SCHOOL, DINAS POWYS
The Headteacher of Murch Junior School commissioned us to create a piece of artwork for the school based on our Lightbox concept. The school wanted to comemorate the 50th Anniversary of Murch Junior School with something creative which would be The panel needed to be sited externally, long lasting, robust and which the students had an input.
We ran worshops with the school council and the pupils created sketches relevant to the school and various school activities. The theme of the panel was the school and what Murch Junior School meant to the children. We used the children sketches to create the final panel.
There were several spin-offs from the original project.
School magnet - We added the panel design to a fridge magnet for the PTA to sell and raise funds for the school.
Limited edition prints - Several months after the completion of the project the Headteacher retired and we were asked to create a limited edition print of the panel as part of the schools leaving gift for the Headteacher.
"This year our school was celebrating its 50th anniversary and we called upon the services of Craig Pearce at CP Creative to work with the school Council to produce a piece of art to commemorate this important event. We wanted to make sure as many pupils could be involved as possible.
Craig met with the school council to develop some ideas which they were able to take away and share with the rest of the school. Craig was brilliant with the children and the result was spectacular.
Craig went out of his way to return to the school for the unveiling ceremony and was will ing to talk to pupils and parents about the project as part of our 50th anniversary exhibition.
We have had lots of positive responses from parents and visitors about the artwork and the children were absolutely thrilled with the final result.
I would not hesitate to recommend Craig to anyone who is interested in creating something special."
