TAF BARGOED HISTORICAL INTERPRETATION
THE BRIEF
Initially we were contacted to place a mural in Taf Bargoed Park, however following our initial meeting with the park manager it became clear that a more informative interpretation area would be better suited to the location.
OUR RESPONSE
This project illustrates the importance of the initial meeting and discussion with our clients. The discussion identified that a mural wasn’t the best option for our client and we were able to suggest other alternatives which better addressed their needs.
Our proposal involved the creation of an interpretation area that could be used by visitors and particularly by visiting schools and groups. The visitors centre already had some items from the Taf Merthyr Colliery and we sourced new imagery, researched historical information and added interpretation to help convey the depth of the mine. We brought all of the items together to create the new interpretation area.
